For those of you who are like us, and enjoy trying new teas, we are excited to order three new tea: a white, a green, and a Phoenix oolong.
The white tea is a high-elevation white that is oxidized almost to the point of green tea, with notes of sugarcane and grasses. It was picked in March, so it will be extremely fresh.
The green tea is also just picked and comes from a famous tea region that became well known during the Qing Dynasty for this tea. It was famously the favorite of Empress Dowager Cixi, and also presented to American officials in the 70's when China and the USA were making efforts to improve diplomatic relations. We're excited to have a green tea that reflects the beauty of Spring and is thick, but not bitter, sweet and fragrant.
The most exciting tea in this order is the 'Duck Shit' Dan Cong oolong, which gets it's humorous name from tales of specially enriched soil from the ducks of the region. This is a Phoenix oolong of the famous Dan Cong region in Guandong Province. This tea is picked from younger plants of the rare Duck Shit varietal which makes it a more affordable and attainable Duck Shit oolong, which is typically wildly pricey. We are lucky to have a 2021 Spring pick of this amazing tea. It is said to have notes and qualities of highly aromatic aromas/flavors with flower, honey and longan (sweet, caramel, date-like fruit) notes. It will surely be a special tea you can enjoy for its uniqueness and rarity.
