What it is really like working with us

If your doctor starts looking more and more like a human pez dispenser handing out prescriptions and diagnoses that don't actually help you feel better, it might be time to get a second opinion.

Life is short.

Even though when we are suffering, each day can feel soooo long.

If you won't settle for a shirt that doesn't fit quite right, a shoe that's too tight, a haircut that doesn’t represent who you are now, why settle for feeling meh in your body?

If you don’t like the results you are getting, change what you are doing!

There’s no return policy on our body, mental state or emotions.

But we can work with what we have and who we are.

You don’t have to settle for a life of pain and discomfort just because one of your doctors or a few of them don’t know how to help you.

Keep looking for someone who can give you answers that actually help you.

Someone whose assessment and treatment helps you get the results you want.

For some people, I am that person.

I help people to piece together the “why” of their health challenges in a way that fundamentally changes how they approach their health so we get sustainable results.

One example of what I uncover in doing in-depth assessment and work with people:

👀 An expressive and vibrant woman in her 30s, who is highly motivated and well-educated, is plagued by headaches, digestive issues, and chronic insomnia.

🔍 What did I find?

1 major organ system (the liver) unable to work efficiently, hinging on a weak digestive system.

🔬 Why does that matter?

When the body isn’t able to break down and assimilate nutrients well (or if you’re not getting all the nutrients you need) your body is not well nourished and your organs and body systems have a harder time doing their jobs. This means long-term (sometimes short-term too) your systems can break down. Then symptoms appear. If you only work on the symptoms and not the underlying cause, the symptoms WILL NOT GO AWAY.

💪 What we do about it:

We work on the root cause(s) of the imbalance.

Do we just tap needles in and walk away?

Nooooooo.

We are interested in significant, lasting change.

Here's how this woman and I worked together to make her health issues disappear:

🙌 Coaching: We start by looking at what you’re eating. Teach you how to decipher the signals your body gives you to fine tune food choices. Explain why leveling up a few daily routines like sleep, movement, and relaxation set up your nervous system to be able to self-regulate. And show you how much nervous system self-regulation matters especially in chronic pain and chronic digestive issues. We also get into some deeper level mindset work exploring control, how it affects the nervous system and begin growing a larger bandwidth for trust.

✨ Treatment: Acupuncture to strengthen the body’s ability to break down and assimilate nutrients and de-inflame and regulate the nervous system. Craniosacral Therapy to turn down the sympathetic nervous system (fight / flight / freeze) and turn up the parasympathetic nervous system (rest / digest / integrate / heal).

🌿 Supplements: An herbal formula to regulate hormones and improve liver function. An herbal formula to help the nervous system down-regulate that works synergistically with the other formula. Phasing in a few key supplements, one by one so we know the changing variable and the effect it is creating. One to reduce neural inflammation (a big trigger in chronic headaches / migraines). One to improve digestion that *almost* everyone should be taking in some form.

🌈 What changed for her?

She didn’t have to spend more $$$ on lab work, imaging or seeing other specialists. (I did coordinate care with her other providers because health care is best done with a team approach).

🌈 Chronic headaches and migraines that had plagued her for years were completely gone in a few treatments.

🌈 Her digestion stabilized, energy and mood improved and she was able to get back into a regular exercise routine (which she had been wanting but hadn’t had the energy for when she had chronic headaches).

🌈 And she was able to get off some of her medication because symptoms she was having before went away.

For anyone that might need to hear this:

Never listen to a medical provider when they say “there’s nothing that can be done to help you.”

There’s always something that we can do, especially if you are willing to show up and do the work too.

Are you curious about what’s possible for you?
